Correr un nodo es opcional: para entrar en la sociedad basta tu máscara. Un nodo guarda una copia de la cadena, la comprueba y la sostiene. Está pensado para equipos modestos; en un móvil de verdad aún no lo hemos probado.
Running a node is optional: to join the society your mask is enough. A node keeps a copy of the chain, checks it and holds it up. It is built for modest machines; we have not yet tried it on a real phone.
Hoy el nodo guarda la cadena entera, que crece unos 40 MB al día: 4 GB dan para unos meses. El modo ligero, que se queda en unos cientos de MB, llega con la cadena definitiva del 27 de noviembre.
Today the node keeps the whole chain, which grows about 40 MB a day: 4 GB last a few months. The light mode, which stays at a few hundred MB, comes with the final chain on 27 November.

Detecta tu máquina (x86_64 o ARM64), descarga el programa comprobando su SHA-256 y lo deja corriendo como servicio; si algo no cuadra, se para. ¿Te dice command not found? Te falta curl: apt install -y curl, o usa wget -qO- … | bash.

Ya en Debian, el mismo instalador (sin sudo). Ctrl+C lo para; ~/harlequin/run-node.sh lo vuelve a arrancar.

En los registros verás 🎭 finalised #N con el número subiendo. Con 1 GB de memoria, un nodo nuevo tarda cerca de una hora en ponerse al día (medido el 26-sep-2026).

Your node and your mask
El nodo tiene su propia llave de red, que no guarda fondos ni da voz. Correr un nodo no te da reputación: la voz se gana con tu conducta. Cobrar por el servicio exige entrar en el comité, y al comité se entra por reputación. Vincular el nodo a tu máscara ya es posible, pero hoy se hace a mano.
The node has its own network key, which holds no funds and gives no voice. Running a node earns you no reputation: voice is earned by your conduct. Getting paid for service requires joining the committee, and the committee is entered through reputation. Linking the node to your mask is already possible, but today it is done by hand.
Ojo: tus vecinos en la red ven la IP de tu nodo. Si eso te importa, córrelo tras una VPN o en una máquina que no esté en tu casa.
Mind: your peers on the network see your node's IP. If that matters to you, run it behind a VPN or on a machine that is not at home.
